Honoring Birth

I have been teaching Mindful Movement To Awaken Birth Wisdom at Bellydancebirth® for 20 years

My work is spiritually aligned and practically guided childbirth education. It is inclusive of all our stories and experiences and the goal is to bring women back to the roots of birthing, their hearts, hands, wombs and babies. I am also very strong in speaking out for the kinds of environments we need to create for women to birth in her wholeness and fullness from HER voice, her perspective.

How can we honour this sacred space?

Many people have the notion that as nature intended birthing is the only way and that those whom did not have this experience are somewhat less than. What I see is that media is a part of the problem where they stir up a divide and conquer battle to pit mothers against one another, to disempower and create friction, conflict for vested interests. And some women buy into this judgement and shaming.

The journey of pregnancy and birth is part of your soul journey – the baby that you carry is also a part of this sacred rite of passage. It is a mystery and we cannot know everything.

Honoring Birth

Honoring Birth

We must allow women in the circle of sisterhood to feel loved and compassionately heard in her OWN story whether that be a “natural” uninterrupted birth or an induced c section and everything in between. When we tell our stories we need to be held in safety without judging what someone else did and compare ourselves. This is what media and powers that be want, so they induce fear and power over tactics so women stray from their true hearts knowing and need the help of the “experts”. My work is all about mother/baby being at the centre – they are the experts and if the need advice, help, assistance they will in most cases be able to ask for this and/or have enough trust in those around to do this.

This is what we need to be creating, a respectful environment for birthing and a place to share our experiences. I will always share my story of my natural births and how they transformed me BUT I do not tell my story in order to put down or judge another woman. I tell my story to share what was possible and how I grew, stretched and expanded soulfully with my baby on our journey in to the hallowed gates of the mystical. Please women lay down your arms, come in to the sacred circle with our Hearts open and lets LOVE women.
